THE TUBE - 28th MARCH 2024

The noise, I don’t think I could ever get used to it.

The screech from the tracks, the rattle, the way it shakes you around like a tumble dryer.

It penetrates my ears and travels through my body, however I stand in silence pretending it doesn’t bother me.

The heat, the warmth beneath ground making my forehead sweat.

The stagnant air fills my lungs as I breathe slowly ignoring the rumble from the train, the noises don’t come in unison, they come unexpectedly. I stand wondering when I’ll be thrown around next.

My ears pop, so I swallow to get rid of the feeling, I look up to catch eyes with the person in front of me. I quickly look away as if it never happened.

The doors bang shut as more people shuffle on packed in like sardines. I’m unsure of the smell as my nose is blocked from being here for a week now.

The gentle breeze that cools me down momentarily disappears as the doors close.

Surly this isn’t healthy for me. I’ve always thought heath was key to life, maybe that’s because my dad drilled it into me when I was younger. I haven’t been very healthy recently, I need to change that.
