Queen of Kernow is a dramatic short film about the true story of Lady Mary Killigrew and her pirating adventures when Spanish merchants docked into the port of Falmouth in 1583.
This is a story inspired by true events set in Cornwall, dealing with themes of terror but also liberation. A tale of a daring heist, the film not only promotes Cornwall and its history but examines a significant female figure in the history of the South West of England, delving deeper into the exciting grit and character that Mary Killigrew's story offers. This film will showcase the merciless Cornish winters that shaped this tribe of seafarers who are only known as legend within Cornwall today.
